BROTHER DCP-8025D DRUM

Your Brother DCP-8025D Multifunction Printer is equipped with a precise built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the work status/condition of the installed drum unit. The main purpose of this constant drum unit monitoring is to be detected any occurred drum related abnormalities as soon as possible. Once such abnormality is detected by the built-in system, you will see an appropriate message displayed on the LCD of your printer, and the detected problem will be specified. If the abnormality is caused by an exhausted drum unit, then the following message ''Change Drum Soon'' will be displayed on the LCD. You must replace the exhausted drum unit soon after the initial appearance of this warning message. Otherwise, your work will be negatively affected by a gradually decreasing print quality, and eventually, by a constantly reappearing print quality issues, such as background fogging, blurred images, blank copies, solid copies, white banding, or black banding.

You must start the drum unit replacement procedure by opening the front cover of your Brother DCP-8025D Multifunction Printer, in order the exhausted component to be accessible. Then, you must take the exhausted drum unit out of the printer by grabbing its front side and carefully pulling towards you. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must detach the toner cartridge (only if it's still useable) from the exhausted drum unit by pulling the cartridge out, while pushing down the blue lock release lever, which is located on the right side of the drum unit, but avoid touching the sensitive contact area of the toner cartridge. After that, you must unpack the new drum unit, but please avoid touching the surface of the drum, which is located on the top side of the new printer's component. Now, you must insert the toner cartridge into the new drum unit until it clicks securely into place, and then install the new drum unit into the printer. Finally, you must confirm the new drum unit installation, and resp. the drum counter reset, by executing the short procedure included below.

Drum Counter Reset

1. Make sure that the front cover is still opened.
2. Look at the control panel of your DCP-8025D and locate the [Clear/Back] button.
3. Press the [Clear/Back] button.
4. Wait for the following message ''Replace Drum <> 1. Yes 2. No'' to appear on the control LCD.
5. Press [1].
6. Wait for the following message ''Accepted'' to appear on the control LCD.
7. Close the front cover of your DCP-8025D.
