BROTHER INTELLIFAX 2600 DRUM

The drum unit installed in your Brother IntelliFax 2600 is also a consumable component/part, and because of that fact, you will have to replace it before the complete consumption of its print resource. Therefore, your fax machine is equipped with a precise built-in system, which uses various sensors and internal counters to monitor the status/condition of the installed drum unit. You will be notified/warned, once the built-in system detects that the installed drum unit is near the end of its useful life. This advance notification will be accomplished with the displaying of the following message ''CHANGE DRUM SOON'' on the control display of your IntelliFax 2600. You should install a new drum unit soon after the initial appearance of the advance notification. Otherwise, your work will be negatively affected by gradually decreasing print quality, and eventually you will experience a variety of print quality issues, such as background fogging, blurred images, blank copies, solid copies, white banding, and/or black banding, reappearing on each new print.

Important: Please avoid touching the fuser unit, which is located in front of the installed drum unit, because it will be very hot. Please also avoid touching the electrodes on the inner printer sides, in order to be avoided damages caused by static electricity.

Initially, you must open the top cover of your Brother IntelliFax 2600, and then take the exhausted drum unit out of the printer by carefully pulling it out of the compartment. Now, you must unlock the toner cartridge (only if it's still useable) from the exhausted drum unit by turning the colored cartridge's lever counterclockwise until it stops, and then pull the toner cartridge out of the exhausted consumable component/part. After that, you must take the new drum unit out of the protective packaging, but do not remove the plastic starter sheet, and then shake it 7-8 times horizontally. Once the new drum unit is prepared, you must insert the toner cartridge, but make sure that the mark on the cartridge is aligned with the mark on the new drum unit, and then lock the toner cartridge into place (open its shutter) by turning its colored lever clockwise until it stops. Finally, you must insert the new drum unit along with the securely attached toner cartridge into the printer, and then close the top cover. Please note that your Brother IntelliFax 2600 will automatically eject the plastic starter sheet.
