A user can check drum unit levels the same way toner levels. To check manually the drum unit levels the device has to be in Ready state. Press KEY button to enter menu. Using up or down arrow navigate to Reports menu, push OK button to enter that menu. Once again using the up or down arrow go to Menu Settings Page, again press OK. A supply status page will be printed.

The built in system will inform a user when it’s recommended to change a drum unit displaying an Imaging Kit message. After receiving Imaging Kit message the printer will stop working until a drum unit is changed.

To replace a color drum unit stand in front of the printer and open the front cover door. Open the right top cover and remove all toner cartridges by lifting them up. Remove the right side cover. Take out the waste toner bottle by pressing green levers on both sides.

To take out the drum unit set lift the blue levers and pull them toward you. Press down the blue levers and grab the green handles based on both sides of the set. Pull out the drum unit set.

Uninstall empty drum unit, unpack the new drum unit replacement and shake it several times to spread the developer inside. Remove the shipping cover from drum unit and insert it back into the drum set matching its color.

Insert the drum set by aligning it to the tracks. Push the set into the printer as far as it goes. Pull down the blue levers until the set stands firmly into its place and lift the blue levers back up.

Insert the waste toner bottle and toner cartridges. Close the right top cover and front cover door. Continue printing.
