When do I Replace an Ink Cartridge in the HP DeskJet 6980 Printer?

Your HP DeskJet 6980 Printer is equipped with a highly sophisticated control panel. The control panel features two ink-cartridge status LEDs. The left LED represents the Tri-color ink cartridge, and resp. the right LED indicates the status of the installed Black, Photo, or Gray-Photo ink cartridge.
You can check the ink levels from the ink status window, which will be displayed each time the DeskJet 6980 prints a document. Alternatively, you can select the ‘’Estimated Ink Levels’’ tab of the ‘’HP ToolBox’’ software to check the ink levels. An installed ink cartridge should be replaced, if its remaining print resource (ink) is less than 10%. Please note that excessive execution of the ink-cartridges cleaning procedure wastes ink and shortens the lifespan of the installed ink cartridges.
Please install a new ink cartridge(s), if any of the listed messages and print quality issues appears.

• ‘’Incorrect print cartridge’’ – The indicated ink cartridge cannot be used in your HP DeskJet 6980 Printer. You have to install a new supported ink cartridge of the indicated color to continue printing.

• ‘’Print cartridge problem’’ – All print/copy operations are disabled due to a problem with one of the installed ink cartridges. You must make sure that the indicated ink cartridge is correctly installed, and then restart the inkjet printer. A new ink cartridge of the indicated color must be installed, if the error message is still displayed afterwards.

• ‘’Print cartridge is in the wrong slot’’ – The indicated ink cartridge is installed in an incorrect slot. You must correctly reinstall the ink cartridges.

• Photos do not print correctly

• Colors are tinted or incorrect

• Streaks and missing lines appear

• Print is faded

• Blank pages

• An ink cartridge LED is on or flashing – You must make sure that the indicated ink cartridge is a supported, still useable, correctly installed component. A new ink cartridge of the indicated color must be installed, if the issue persists. The complete ink-cartridge replacement procedure is available below.

The HP Deskjet 6980 inkjet printer offers outstanding quality without breaking the bank. Output quality is amazing and well worth the money. Color images almost look like originals. There are no signs of dithering. It offers fast print speeds as well as wired and wireless printing.
One benefit of the HP 6980 is that it is compact. Its dimensions are 14.5 inches by 17.7 inches by 5.7 inches. It is easy to set up on a network thanks to its wireless and wired support. Most features can be controlled with an embedded print server.
