HP Color LaserJet 3600n Review
Vibrant colors, crisp print details and fast, efficient productivity – these are what users can expect once they get the HP Color LaserJet 3600n for their home or office spaces. With HP ColorSphere toners to boot and simplistically easy design, the HP Color LaserJet 3600n gets results done with ease and impressive functionality that can rival even other high end printers in the market today.
The HP Color LaserJet 3600n is a laser jet printer capable of producing speeds of up to 17 pages per minute, with first page out results as fast as 14 seconds. Such speeds should enable users to produce faster yields of print documents for both color and monochrome outputs. To complement its print speeds, the HP Color LaserJet 3600n produces quality resolution of up to 600 x 600 dots per inch using HP ImageREt 3600. For processing print tasks, the HP Color LaserJet 3600n uses a 360 MHz Fujitsu FR555 FRV and utilizes a memory SD RAM with a standard 64 MB capacity.
Being a network-enabled printer, the HP Color LaserJet 3600n has the HP JetDirect print servers for its network protocol support, with DHCP, Auto IP, BOOTP, WINS, RARP, TelNet, DNS and TFTP among the other supported protocols. The HP Color LaserJet 3600n also offers support for client and network operating systems such as Windows system environments and MAC OS X, aside from Linux distributions specifically only for network operating systems. Supported language for the HP Color LaserJet 3600n is the HP JetReady 4.2, while network connectivity offers a high speed USB 2.0 and the HP Jetdirect Fast Ethernet embedded print server, with an optional 802.11 b/g wireless LAN for wireless connection for easier and more seamless wireless print production. Other network accessories can also be added, though these must be added via an external unit.
For its paper handling, the HP Color LaserJet 3600n employs a 250-sheet input tray for standard paper sizes and a 100-sheet capacity multipurpose tray for a total of 350 sheets. An optional tray can be added, which can carry up to 500 sheets. A 250-sheet output tray is also included, which only bolsters the HP Color LaserJet 3600n’s capacity for handling high volume print production. For paper sizes, this laser jet printer 3 x 5 to 8.5 x 14 inches. Supported paper types include letter, envelopes, labels, transparencies, card stock, legal and executive types. Even user-defined paper types are also supported. The HP Color LaserJet 3600n also supports manual duplex printing, with weight support up to 42 lbs on its multipurpose tray and from 16 to 32 lbs for its main trays and the optional one.
The HP Color LaserJet 3600n has dimensions of 15.7 x 20.7 x 15.7 for its width, depth and height, making it a relatively compact laser jet printer capable of high volume printing. It weighs an approximate 60 lbs, which may not really make it a lightweight printer, but not as heavy when compared to other printers in the market that cater to high volume document production.
The HP Color LaserJet 3600n does not support HP PostScript emulation, as HP recommends the Color LaserJet 3800 series for it. Font support is also not applicable, as the HP Color LaserJet 3600n only has fonts for internal pages and the ASCII. Also, the HP Color LaserJet 3600n can only use fonts based on installed typefaces on host computer. While a high volume printer, the HP Color LaserJet 3600n’s memory is not upgradable, which makes it a bit cumbersome when pressed with more complex tasks. |
