HP LASERJET 4100N TONER CARTRIDGE - HIGH YIELD

The lifespan of the toner cartridge installed in your HP LaserJet 4100n Printer depends mainly upon the chosen toner density settings and the average percentage of page coverage. You can extend the lifespan of the installed toner cartridge by using the ‘’HP EconoMode’’, but please be aware that the overall print quality will be noticeably lower.
Your HP LaserJet 4100n Printer features a precise built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the status of the installed toner cartridge. The built-in system will notify you with an appropriate warning message displayed on the control panel LCD, if a toner cartridge related problem occurs. All messages used for an indication of such problems/abnormalities are listed and described below.

• ‘’INSTALL TONER CARTRIDGE’’ – The built-in system is not detecting an installed toner cartridge. The most common cause of this problem is an incorrectly installed or damaged toner cartridge. You must make sure that the toner cartridge is firmly inserted into the slot. Please replace the problematic toner cartridge, if the error message is still displayed after the correct reinstallation.

• ‘’NON HP TONER DETECTED’’ – You must press the [GO] button to dismiss the warning message. No further actions are required.

• ‘’TONER LOW’’ – The remaining toner is less than 20%. You should prepare/purchase a new toner cartridge soon after the initial appearance of the warning message.

• ‘’TONER OUT’’ – The installed toner cartridge is empty. You must install a new toner cartridge.

• ‘’REMOVE SEALING TAPE FROM TONER CARTRIDGE’’ – The sealing tape is still attached to the installed toner cartridge. You must remove the toner cartridge from the laser printer, completely detach the sealing tape, and then reinstall the cartridge.

You should replace the installed toner cartridge, if any of the print quality issues included below is reappearing, even if there are no messages/notifications displayed on the control LCD.

• Light prints

• Vertical black lines
• Gray background

• Repeating defects

In the initial phase of the replacement procedure, you must turn your HP LaserJet 4100n Printer off, and then unplug its power cable. After that, you must open the top cover, and remove the used toner cartridge by carefully pulling it out of the slot. You should avoid touching the fusing area, because it might be hot. Please avoid prolonged exposures of the unpacked new toner cartridge to direct sunlight or strong artificial light. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the toner cartridge cavity, and then unpack the new toner cartridge. Now, you must remove the sealing tape from the new toner cartridge, and then redistribute the toner by shaking the cartridge several times from side to side.
