HP LASERJET 9050 TONER CARTRIDGE - HIGH YIELD

The HP LaserJet 9050 Printer is equipped with a precise built-in monitoring system, which is constantly monitoring the status of all installed consumable components. The built-in system will display an appropriate warning message on the control LCD, when a toner cartridge related problem/abnormality occurs. All messages used by the built-in monitoring system for an indication of such abnormalities are listed and explained below. Please follow the instructions given after each of the listed messages.

• ‘’CARTRIDGE FAILURE’’ – The cartridge has been inserted into the slot along with the shipping protection strip. You should try to resolve the issue by taking the toner cartridge out of the laser printer, removing the protection strip, and then reinstalling the cartridge. You must install a new toner cartridge, if the error message is still displayed on the control LCD after the correct reinstallation.

• ‘’INSTALL CARTRIDGE’’ – The built-in monitoring system is not detecting an installed toner cartridge. The most common cause of this issue is an incorrect installation of the toner cartridge. Therefore, you should remove the toner cartridge from the laser printer, and then reinstall it by following the instructions given in ‘’ How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the HP LaserJet 9050 Printer’’.

• ‘’NON-HP SUPPLY INSTALLED’’ – This message will be displayed, if the installed toner cartridge is a non-HP/non-OEM product. The laser printer will automatically return to a ‘’READY’’ mode in approximately 30 seconds. No actions are required.

• ‘’ORDER CARTRIDGE LESS THAN XXX PAGES’’ – This warning message indicates that the remaining toner will be completely consumed very soon. You should install a new toner cartridge soon after the initial appearance of the warning message on the control panel, in order to be avoided print quality issues and a subsequent non-operational mode. Please note that the laser printer will continue printing until it reaches a ‘’drum out’’ condition.

• ‘’REPLACE CARTRIDGE’’ – The toner cartridge is empty or/and the integrated drum has been exhausted. A new toner cartridge must be installed.

Please note that most print quality issues are usually caused by a toner cartridge abnormality. Therefore, you must replace the installed toner cartridge, if any of the listed print quality issues is constantly reappearing.

• Low image density/light prints – Low toner level
• Specks – Cartridge leaks
• Lines – Exhausted drum
• Gray background – Exhausted drum
• Toner smear – Expired toner cartridge
• Repeating defects – Exhausted drum

You can obtain information about the installed toner cartridge by printing a supplies status page. The cartridge information will be printed in the beginning of the supplies status page.

Initially, you must turn your HP LaserJet 9050 Printer off by holding down its power button, and then disconnect all cables from the rear side of the main unit. After that, you must open the front cover of your laser printer, push the green lock release lever down, and then remove the used toner cartridge by slowly pulling it towards you. Please avoid exposing the new toner cartridge to direct light for more than a few minutes. Once the old toner cartridge has been removed, you must clean the paper path, the registration roller, and the toner cartridge cavity, with a dry, lint-free cloth. Then, you must unpack the new toner cartridge, and redistribute the toner by shaking the new component 7-8 times from side to side. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the protection strip from the new toner cartridge, and then align the prepared new component with the guides of the slot. Now, you must slide the new toner cartridge along the guides of the slot until it stops, and then push the green lock release lever upwards to the labeled ‘’locked’’ position. Finally, you must close the front cover, and then test your HP LaserJet 9050 Printer.
