HP LaserJet 4350 Printer Review
The HP LaserJet 4350 Laser printer is a fast monochrome device featuring the Instant-On Technology, with decent paper-handling capabilities, compact Flash support and high-performance hardware products. Not many printers out there are working at such a speed as this model does, so we can consider this device one of the fastest printer ever produced.
The printer works with a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch, featuring the following resolution technologies: HP REt, HP FastRes 1200 and HP ProRes 1200. The HP LaserJet 4350 Laser Printer's main feature is the speed. The printer delivers up to 55 pages per minute, with only a bit over one second for each page. Impressive and mind-blowing, I can't find other words. Furthermore, the 55 pages per minute speed is reachable in both best quality and normal quality mode. Thanks to the Instant-On Technology the first page comes out in eight seconds. HP's technology warms the printer up faster so it can deliver you the first page as fast as possible. There are many saying this printer can't reach that speed, with most of the testers giving 52 pages per minute more credit, but even in this situation the speed is stunning. The monthly duty cycle is set at 250.000 pages. With this being said, you will never have to be afraid of the fact you are overusing the printer. You won't even need to postpone printing jobs for next month because 250.000 pages means a lot, even for a big company. The producer advises the users not to print more than 250.000 pages per month because this will considerably decrease the printer's life. On the other side there's the recommended monthly print volume, which is somewhere between 5.000 and 20.000 pages. If you want your device to work at optimal parameters all the time, then you should always print a volume found within those ranges. This model features three standard paper trays and can hold up to five maximum paper trays. The standard input capacity is up to 1.100 sheets.
The HP LaserJet 4350 supports the following standard media sizes: Letter, legal, executive, statement, envelopes (Nr 10, Monarch) and the following custom media sizes: 3 by 5 to 8.5 by 14 inches on tray 2, 5.8 by 8.3 to 8.5 by 14 inches on trays 2 and 3. The printer supports the following media types: Paper (bond, color, letterhead, plain, preprinted, prepunched, recycled, rough), envelopes, labels, cardstock, transparencies and user-defined.
This device features a built-in duplexer, which allows automatic two sided printing. This targets companies which aim to cut down on consumables, money, effort and time. The printer is powered up by a 460 MHz processor and features 96 MB RAM, expandable to 512 MB through the available DIMM slots. There's also an optional HP high-performance EIO hard disk, but you will have to pay to get it.
The printer features the following print languages: HP PCL 6, HP PCL 5e, HP Postscript Level 3 emulation and direct PDF (v 1.3) printing (with at least 128 MB printer memory).
The HP LaserJet 4350 can connect through a hi-speed USB 2.0 port, an IEEE 1284-B compliant parallel port, two open EIO slots and through the HP Jetdirect Fast Ethernet Embedded Print Server for the network connection. For additional money the users can also connect through some of the following: HP Jetdirect EIO internal print servers, HP Jetdirect external print servers, HP wireless print servers, HP Jetdirect EIO connectivity card (for USB, serial, LocalTalk) or Bluetooth wireless.
The printer is compatible with Windows 2000+, Mac OS 9.2+, Mac OS X 10.1.5+ and is certified for Windows Vista.
I would really like to find something missing from this printer, but I can't. Maybe the fact that some cables are not included will do it. Otherwise this device is flawless.
