LEXMARK E232 DRUM

The drum unit installed in your Lexmark E232 Laser Printer is a consumable component that has to be replaced on a regular basis. The approximate lifespan of a new drum unit is 30,000 pages at 5% coverage. Please be aware that the useful life of the installed drum unit will be substantially reduced if you use refilled toner cartridges. You can check the status of the installed drum unit by printing a Menu Settings Page. To print the menu settings page, you must press the [Continue] button while the Lexmark E232 Laser Printer is in the Ready state. One of the listed indications will appear when the installed drum unit reaches near or at the end of its useful life.

The LED of the [Continue] button is on, and the [Toner Low/Replace PC Kit] indicator flashes – The installed drum unit is near the end of its useful life and will need to be replaced soon. You should purchase a new drum unit.

The [Toner Low/Replace PC Kit] indicator flashes – Approximately 30,000 pages have been printed since the installation of the drum unit. You can continue printing by pressing the [Continue] button, but please be aware that print-quality will be gradually decreasing. Therefore, you should install a new drum unit.

The LED of the [Continue] button is on, and the [Toner Low/Replace PC Kit] and [Error] indicators blink – The installed drum unit is completely exhausted. All print/copy operations are disabled, in order to be avoided damage to the main unit. You must install a new drum unit.

You must open the front cover of your Lexmark E232 Laser Printer, and then pull the print cartridge assembly (drum unit and toner cartridge) out of the main compartment. After that, you must press the button on the front side of the exhausted drum unit to unlock the toner cartridge, and then pull the toner cartridge out of the exhausted component. Now, you must remove the packing material from the new drum unit, and then insert the toner cartridge into the new component until it locks into place. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must slide the print cartridge assembly into the Lexmark E232 Laser Printer until it stops, and then close the front cover. Finally, you must reset the counter of the drum unit by selecting [Reset Photoconductor Counter] from the [Utilities] menu.
