This Toner Cartridge prints 30000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Ricoh specification)

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Ricoh Aficio MP 4500 Laser Printer?

The toner cartridge installed in your Ricoh Aficio MP 4500 Laser Printer must be replaced, when any of the listed and described below messages is displayed on the control LCD.

• ‘’Toner is almost empty’’ – A low toner level has been detected by the built-in monitoring system. The remaining toner is enough for approx. 90 new prints/copies, but please be aware that the print quality will be drastically decreased during the ‘’low toner’’ period. Therefore, you should install a new toner cartridge soon after the initial appearance of this warning message on the control display.

• ‘’Replace Toner Bottle.’’ – There is no toner left in the installed toner cartridge. All print/copy operations are disabled in this situation. You must install a new toner cartridge, in order the normal functionality of your Ricoh Aficio MP 4500 Laser Printer to be restored. The complete replacement procedure is included below.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Ricoh Aficio MP 4500 Laser Printer

Initially, you must open the front cover of your laser printer, and then pull the green handle of the toner cartridge holder upwards until it stops in a horizontal position. After that, you must grab the lever, which is located below the toner cartridge holder, and then slide it towards the right side of the main unit until it stops. Now, you must pull the toner cartridge holder out, and then unlock the exhausted toner cartridge by pushing it towards the laser printer. Once the exhausted toner cartridge is unlocked, you must remove it from the holder, and then unpack the new toner cartridge. In the next step, you must prepare the new toner cartridge for installation by shaking it 7-8 times horizontally, and then remove its black outer cap. Please do not remove the inner cap. After that, you must insert the prepared new toner cartridge into the holder, and then lock it into place by gently pushing its top side towards the front side of the holder. Once the new toner cartridge is inserted, you must push the holder towards the main unit until you hear a click, and then fold down the green handle. Finally, you must close the front cover, and then test your Ricoh Aficio MP 4500 Laser Printer.
