When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the OKIDATA C9400?

Your OKIDATA C9400 laser printer is equipped with four toner cartridges: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. The lifespan of the installed cartridges is mainly defined by their type. Below you can find the approximate maximal prints number for each toner cartridge's type.

7500 A4 pages with 5% coverage, if the installed toner cartridges are standard. Please note that the maximal prints number will be drastically reduced, if you are installing a new cartridge into a new drum unit.
15000 A4 pages with 5% coverage, if the installed toner cartridges are high capacity/yield.

All of the installed toner cartridges are constantly monitored by the built-in system of your laser device, and you will see a warning message displayed on the control LCD, when any/several of the installed toner cartridges is/are near the end of its/their useful life. All of the warning messages used for indication of a nearly empty toner cartridge/cartridges are listed below:

You should replace the indicated toner cartridge/cartridges soon after the appearance of the warning message/messages on the control LCD. Otherwise, the indicated toner cartridge/cartridges will be completely exhausted very soon, which will lead to the disabling of all printing capabilities of your OKIDATA C9400. The non-operational printer's mode caused by a completely exhausted toner cartridge will be indicated with one of the listed below error messages.

You could easily avoid such interruptions of your work by simply keeping a spare set of toner cartridges for your laser printer in stock, but please remember to store all consumable components in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the OKIDATA C9400

Initially, you must turn off your OKIDATA C9400, and then open its top cover. After that, you must locate the exhausted toner cartridge by checking the color labels of the installed cartridges, and then unlock the exhausted cartridge from the corresponding drum unit by pulling its colored lock release lever towards the front side of the printer. Now, you must lift the right side of the exhausted cartridge, gently slide it to the right side of the printer, and then completely remove the exhausted consumable component from the still useable drum unit. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must unpack the new toner cartridge, and then loosen and evenly distribute the toner by shaking the new component 7-8 times from side to side. Then, you must finalize the preparation of the new toner cartridge by removing its protective tape, but please avoid tilting the prepared toner cartridge, in order to be avoided toner spillages. Once the new toner cartridge is prepared, you must insert its left end into the corresponding drum unit, and then push its right end down, but make sure that the locking pin of the new component is placed into the groove of the drum unit. After that, you must lock the new toner cartridge into place by pushing its colored lock release lever towards the rear side of the laser printer, and then use LED lens cleaner to routinely clean the LED head, which is located on the top cover. Finally, you must close the top cover and test your OKIDATA C9400. Please note that the warning or the error message (''Toner Low'' or ''Change Toner'') will disappear after a printing has been carried out. Therefore, you must print at least one new page after the successful installation of a new toner cartridge/cartridges.

The OkiData C9400 color laser printer will meet the printing needs of your office. Output quality is excellent and large format printing makes it a great choice for production environments.

The OkiData C9400 color laser printer comes in two configurations. The base model is the C9400 and the C9400dxn adds built-in networking support, automatic duplexing, and a 5GB hard drive. The base model can be upgraded to include these features.

It can handle large printing jobs due to the fact that it comes with a 550 sheet tray that can be expanded. Paper capacity can be expanded to a maximum of 1,650 sheets, which should be enough to handle a very large office with high-volume printing. Large media formats such as tabloid can be handled with the OkiData C9400.

High yield toner cartridges are one major advantage of owning the OkiData C9400. As a result you will have to change toner cartridges less often.

With the C9400 you get outstanding print quality. Color photos and graphics are very well-balanced with colors being very accurate.
