Product Description
Developer for Ricoh FT-3713 Laser Copier (OEM), Manufactured by Ricoh

The page yield for this developer is 160000 pages. Page Yield is based on Ricohs manufacturer specifications. The actual yield can vary depending on factors including: the size paper you are using, your printers settings, etc.

What does a Developer do? In a laser printer, the developer unit is a set of negatively-charged beads that pulls the positively-charged toner particles out of their cartridge and onto the drum, which then transfers the toner to the page.

How to Install a Developer in the Ricoh FT-3713 Laser Copier
You must turn the Ricoh FT-3713 Laser Copier off, and then unplug the power cord. After that, you must open the front cover, and then remove the two screws from the front side of the development unit. Now, you must remove the development unit from the laser copier by pulling it straight towards you, and then place it on a large sheet of paper. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the two screws, which fix the toner supply to the development unit, and then detach the toner supply. Once the toner supply is detached, you must remove the old developer, making sure that no developer remains on the development roller or in the unit, and then pour the new developer while rotating the magnetic roller in a clockwise direction. Next, you must reassemble all components, and then install them into the Ricoh FT-3713 Laser Copier. After that, you must close the front cover, and then turn the laser copier on. Finally, you must execute the developer initial setting procedure (included below).

Developer Initial Setting Procedure (SP 65)

1. Lower the platen cover.
2. Enter [71], and then press and hold down the [C] key until a black dot appears in the top left corner of the copy counter screen.
3. Press the [C] key again, and then press the [Left Arrow] key.
4. Enter [65], and then press the [FUNCTION] key.
5. Press the [Start] key.
