Pros: The Samsung SCX-5835FN packs a lot of features which include automatic duplexing and an internal 80GB hard drive. It can be easily connected to a network using the USB and Ethernet ports. Plus it comes with two additional USB ports that can be used for printing. This printer allows you to password protect files using a four digit PIN when you print. Its large touch panel is like those on printers used in medium to large businesses. Users simply use the main menu to scan, copy, and fax. The touch panel makes you life easier since it is responsive and designed with the user in mind. It significantly increases functionality. With this printer you can easily replace toner through a panel below the output tray. This tray also can be used as a multi-purpose tray. Additionally there is a 500-sheet cassette on the bottom and the printer comes with the option of adding a second 500 sheet tray. The Samsung SCX-5835FN has a monthly duty cycle of 80,000 pages which is perfect for any office. Plus using A4 paper it gives you a per page printing cost of three cents. Thanks to great web interfacing you can access the functions that are on the touch panel and other network security options like IP filtering.

Cons: The scanner is not the best. When scanning graphics with the Samsung SCX-5835FN they are often under saturated which means that colors are not of the highest quality. Scans can be imitated using the touch panel, but there is no way to scan to the internal hard drive. The Samsung SCX-5835FN doesn’t provide the ability to configure print and scan boxes. Files cannot be transferred from a USB flash drive to the internal hard drive.
