This Toner Cartridge prints 6000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Sharp specification)

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Sharp FO-4470 Multifunctional Laser Fax Machine?

The Sharp FO-4470 Multifunctional Laser Fax Machine features a built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the toner cartridge status. When the monitoring systems detects a low toner level in the toner cartridge, you will see the following message ‘’REPLACE TONER CARTRIDGE`` appearing in the Sharp FO-4470 display. Additionally, the toner indicator, located in the second column of the upper panel, will be blinking. The exhausted toner cartridge must be replaced in the above situation, because the remaining toner will be consumed very soon. Once the toner in the toner cartridge is completely consumed, the toner indicator will steadily light and all printing/copying operations will be blocked. Please note, that the initial starter cartridge installed in your Sharp FO-4470 Multifunctional Laser Fax Machine has a printing resource for only 3000 letter size pages, which will be consumed very fast.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Sharp FO-4470 Multifunctional Laser Fax Machine

Initially, you must open the print compartment cover by pressing its release, but be careful not to touch the inside of the compartment and more specifically the fusing unit, because it may be hot. Then, you must take out the exhausted toner cartridge by pulling it up and unpack the new toner cartridge. Now, you must remove the protective tape from the cartridge and lift the cartridge handle up. After that, you must shake the new toner cartridge 10-12 times in order to loosen the toner, and then you must insert it into the print compartment, so the green mark of the cartridge is on the right and the blue is on the left. Once the new toner cartridge locks securely into place, you must close the print compartment and test your Sharp FO-4470 Multifunctional Laser Fax Machine.

Cons:

The Sharp FO 4470 tends to jam and display a lot of error messages. Often you have to open the tray and shut it since the machine will tell you that there is a paper jam even if there isn't one. Maintaining this machine can get old fast.
