When do I Replace an Ink Cartridge in the Epson Stylus Photo EX

You can monitor the condition of the ink cartridges installed in your Epson Stylus Photo EX from the Status Monitor. You should replace an installed ink cartridge(s) if:

� One or both ink cartridge indicators flash

� One or both ink cartridge indicators are lit

� An installed ink cartridge(s) is more than six months old

� Print quality is gradually decreasing

How to Install an Ink Cartridge in the Epson Stylus Photo EX

Initially, you must switch your Epson Stylus Photo EX on, and then lower the output tray. After that, you must open the main cover, and then press and hold the [Cleaning] button for about four seconds. Once the printhead stops moving, you must raise the ink cartridge clamp, and then remove the exhausted ink cartridge from the main unit. Now, you must take the new ink cartridge out of the plastic bag, and then remove the yellow seal. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the new ink cartridge into the printhead, and then close the clamp. Finally, you must press the [Ink Cleaning] button, and then close the main cover of your Epson Stylus Photo EX.
