When do I Replace an Ink Cartridge in the Lexmark X6150 Printer?

The ink cartridges installed in your Lexmark X6150 Printer are consumable, user-replaceable components. You can check the ink levels from the [Maintenance] menu. The installed ink cartridges must be replaced when any of the listed indications (messages, print quality problems, control panel indications) appears.

Colors are faded or not printing completely

The message [Ink Low] is displayed – The indicated cartridge is running out of ink. You should order a new ink cartridge of the corresponding color soon.

The message [Cartridge Error: 50C] is displayed – Your Lexmark X6150 Printer has detected a hardware problem. You should turn the printer off, unplug the power cord, and then plug it back in. After that, you must turn the printer on, reinstall the ink cartridges, and then test the machine. Please replace the installed ink cartridges if the problem persists.

How to Install an Ink Cartridge in the Lexmark X6150 Printer

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must make sure that your Lexmark X6150 Printer is on, and then open the scanner unit. Please wait until the ink cartridge carrier stops moving. After that, you must lift the lid of the slot where the exhausted ink cartridge is installed, and then remove the exhausted ink cartridge from the carrier. Now, you must prepare the new ink cartridge for installation by removing the foam, sticker, and the transparent tape from the bottom of the new component. Please do not touch the gold contact area on the new ink cartridge. Once the new ink cartridge is prepared, you must insert it into the empty slot of the cartridge carrier, and then close the lid. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must close the scanner unit, and then load paper into the input tray. Overview:

The Lexmark X6150 is a compact and affordable multifunction inkjet printer designed for the home or small office user. Print speeds are below average at 19 pages per minute for monochrome and 15 pages per minute for color. Text is sharp and easily readable at 4 point fonts.

Pros:

This unit is compact and won’t take up a lot of space in the office. It requires two Lexmark X6150 ink cartridges: one color and one black. The color cartridge combines three colors into one and saves owners from having to purchase three separate cartridges.

The Lexmark X6150 is an all-in-one unit that can print, copy, scan, and fax. Copying and faxing can be carried out from the control panel, and don't even require the machine to be connected to a computer. The printer can be connected to a computer using a USB. However it lacks networking features. It has a paper capacity of 100 sheets which isn’t a lot.

The Lexmark X6150 offers decent print speeds and is affordable. However paper handling is limited.

Cons:

The biggest drawback of this unit is its lack of finishing features. Automatic collating and booklet making save you time, allowing users to work on other projects.
