E-STUDIO 550 OPC DRUM

The drum is an aluminum cylinder covered with a photoconductive layer. The Toshiba e-Studio 550 Laser Printer uses the drum for the formation of the electrostatic latent image and the toner image. The laser printer will display a warning message on the LCD screen when the installed drum reaches the end of its useful life.

In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must make sure that the Toshiba e-Studio 550 Laser Printer is switched off, and then open the front cover. After that, you must remove the right inner cover, the drive unit of the toner cartridge, the toner recycle unit, the developer unit, and the main charger from the laser printer. Now, you must detach the cleaner unit by removing the two mounting screws, and then remove the screw and the connector from the drum thermistor. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the drum thermistor along with the bracket, and then release the pressure of the cleaning blade by turning the cam. After that, you must detach the drum shaft by removing its fixing screw, and then pull the exhausted drum out of the drum unit. Next, you must detach the front side flange from the exhausted drum, and then remove the packaging from the replacement component. Finally, you must install the new drum by executing the current procedure in reverse order.
