RICOH AFICIO 1018 TONER CARTRIDGE

The Ricoh Aficio 1018 Laser Printer is equipped with a built-in system for a constant monitoring of the installed toner cartridge. This system will turn on a special indicator on the control panel – The [Add Toner] indicator, when a toner cartridge related abnormality occurs. Please note that the [Add Toner] indicator illustrates six black dots in a pyramidal order with an arrow pointing in the direction of the dots. The [Add Toner] indicator will be blinking, when the system detects a low toner level. You should replace the installed toner cartridge soon after the initial appearance of the described above indication, in order to be avoided various print quality problems caused by an insufficient toner level. The [Add Toner] indicator will be continuously lit, when the installed toner cartridge reaches the end of its useful life. You must install a new toner cartridge immediately after the appearance of the described above indication, in order to avoid interruptions of your work. The complete replacement procedure is included below.

You must start the installation by opening the front cover of your Ricoh Aficio 1018 Laser Printer. Then, you must pull the green lever of the toner cartridge holder upwards to a horizontal position. In the next step of the installation, you must unlock the toner cartridge holder by pushing down the release lever, which is located next to the slot of the holder, and then gain access to the exhausted toner cartridge by pulling the holder slowly towards you. After that, you must push the exhausted toner cartridge towards the rear side of the laser printer, in order to unlock it from the holder, and then remove the exhausted component by pulling it at an angle of approx. 45degrees. Once the exhausted component is removed, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the transport packaging, and then loosen and evenly distribute the toner by shaking the new component at least 10 times horizontally. Now, you must insert the new toner cartridge into the holder, and then lock it into place by gently pushing it towards the front side of the holder. At this stage of the installation, you must completely insert the toner cartridge holder into the printer (it will click into place), and then push its green lever down to a vertical position. Finally, you must close the front cover, and test your Ricoh Aficio 1018 Laser Printer.
