CANON PIXMA MX7600 GLOSS OPTIMIZER CARTRIDGE

You must replace the ink cartridges installed in your Canon PIXMA MX7600, when the precise built-in monitoring system displays a warning or an error message on the control LCD, which is indicating an ink cartridge/cartridges related abnormality. All error and warning messages used by the built-in system for indication of such abnormalities are listed and described below.

''The ink may have run out. You are recommended to stop printing, then replace the ink tank.'' or ''The ink may have run out. Replacing the ink tank is recommended.'' - The indicated ink cartridges are nearly empty. You must install new ink cartridges of the indicated colors, in order to be avoided a non-operational printer's mode caused by a completely exhausted ink cartridge/cartridges.

''Some ink tanks are not installed in place'' <U071> or ''The following ink tank cannot be recognized'' <U043><U140><U150> - This is an error message, which is usually indicating an incorrect ink cartridge/cartridges installation. Therefore, you should reinstall the ink cartridges into the print head of your ink-jet device. However, you will have to replace the problematic ink cartridges, if the message is still appearing after a correct re-installation of the ink cartridges.

''The ink has run out. Stop printing, then replace the ink tank.'', or ''The ink has run out. Replace the ink tank.'' <U171>, or ''Printer detected ink out condition. Stop printing, then replace the ink tank.''<U172><U181><U182> - All of these error messages are indicating that an installed ink cartridge or several installed ink cartridges has/have been completely exhausted/emptied. Please note that all print/copy operations will be disabled in this situation, until a new ink cartridge/cartridges of the indicated color/colors are installed.

There are several ways/methods for checking the current ink levels of the installed ink cartridges. All methods are included below.

Checking the remaining ink level with the control LCD

1. Turn on your ink-jet device.
2. Press one of the following buttons: [COPY], [FAX], [SCAN], or [MEMORY CARD].
3. The current ink level will be displayed on the control LCD for approx. 5 seconds. Please note that all nearly empty ink cartridges will be indicated with ''!'', and all empty ink cartridges will be indicated with ''X''.

Checking the current ink level with the Ink Lamps

1. Open the scanning unit of your Canon PIXMA MX7600.
2. Locate the ink LEDs (in front of the installed ink cartridges).
All Ink LEDs are ON – The ink levels of all installed ink cartridges are normal.
An Ink LED or several Ink LEDs are flashing at 3-second intervals – The indicated ink cartridges are nearly empty.
An Ink LED or several Ink LEDs are flashing at 1-second intervals – The indicated ink cartridges are not installed correctly or empty.
An Ink LED or several Ink LEDs are OFF – The indicated ink cartridges are not installed correctly, or they are damaged/faulty.

Initially, you must open the scanning unit and the paper output tray (you could open it manually by pressing its lock release button), while the printer is turned on, but please avoid touching the control LCD or the metallic inner parts/components. Please note that the print head (where all ink cartridges are installed) will be automatically moved to the center of the compartment, but if it's still in the left side of the compartment (resp. the ink cartridges are not accessible), then you will have to close and reopen the scanning unit. Now, you must remove the exhausted ink cartridge by pulling it upwards while pressing its lock release lever, and then take the new ink cartridge out of the protective transport packaging, but please avoid touching the contact area of the new consumable component. After that, you must prepare the new ink cartridge for installation by removing the orange protective cap from its bottom, but please avoid shaking the new cartridge, in order to be avoided ink leakages. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the front side of the prepared new ink cartridge into the appropriate/corresponding slot of the print head, and then push the rear side of the new ink cartridge down until you hear a click. Once the new ink cartridge is securely attached to the print head, you must make sure that the LED in front of the new cartridge is lit in red, and then carefully close the scanning unit. Finally, you must wait for the automatic ink cartridge initializing and the automatic print head cleaning procedures to be completed (approx. 2 minutes), and then test your Canon PIXMA MX7600.
