COPYSTAR CS-2050 DRUM KIT

The photoconductive drum of the drum unit installed in your Copystar CS-2050 Laser Printer has a print resource for approx. 150000. The exact maximal number of prints could not be specified, because the lifespan of the drum unit is defined by various factors, such as the type of the used paper, the number of prints per task, the average percentage of page coverage, etc… You should replace this consumable component/part of your monochrome laser printer, if the print quality is not satisfactory, and there are constantly reappearing print quality issues, such as black prints, background dots, too light images, horizontal white lines, horizontal black lines, vertical white lines, vertical black lines, dark/light areas, black dots, offset occurs, or/and parts of the printed image are missing. It is always better, if you keep a replacement drum unit for your Copystar CS-2050 Laser Printer in stock, but please store this important consumable component at an ambient temperature between -20degreesC/-4degreesF and 55degreesC/131degreesF with relative humidity lower than 90%.

Important: Prolonged exposures of the drum unit to direct sunlight or strong artificial light will lead to irreparable damages to this important consumable component. Please avoid touching the sensitive surface of the photoconductive drum.

Initially, you must open the front cover and the left cover of your Copystar CS-2050 Laser Printer. Then, you must remove the toner cartridge and the waste toner container from the laser printer (please refer to ‘’ How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Copystar CS-2050 Laser Printer’’). After that, you must remove the inner cover, and then remove the screw from the lock release lever of the developing unit. Now, you must detach the developing unit by pulling its lock lever, and then remove the screw, which is securing the exhausted drum unit to the machine. In the next step, you must detach the connector of the drum unit, and then remove the exhausted consumable component from the main unit by pulling it towards you. After that, you must unpack the new drum unit, and then install it into the printer by following the current procedure in reverse order. Finally, you must reset the drum counter by performing the procedure included below.

Reset of the Drum Unit Counter

1. Press the [Start] button, and then enter ‘’10871087’’.
2. Use the up/down buttons to enter ‘’U110’’, and then press the [Start] button – The number of pages printed with the old drum unit will be displayed.
3. Use the up/down keys to select [CLEAR].
4. Press the [Start] button.
5. Select [No], when the following message ‘’Repeat the same maintenance item?’’ appears.
6. Select [No], when the following message ‘’Run another maintenance item?’’ appears on the LCD.
7. Enter ‘’001’’, and then press the [Start] button.
