When do I Replace a Drum Unit in the Lexmark E340 Laser Printer?

Normally, the installed drum unit lasts up to 30,000 prints at 5% coverage. You can check the status of the installed drum unit by printing a menu settings page. The installed drum unit should be replaced when the [Replace photoconductor kit] message appears on the LCD of your Lexmark E340 Laser Printer.

How to Install a Drum Unit in the Lexmark E340 Laser Printer

Initially, you must open the front cover of the Lexmark E340 Laser Printer, and then pull the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly out of the print compartment. After that, you must press the release button located on the front side of the assembly, and then remove the toner cartridge from the exhausted drum unit. In the next step, you must unpack the new drum unit, and then insert the toner cartridge into the new component until it clicks into place. Now, you must insert the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the Lexmark E340 Laser Printer, and then close the front cover. Finally, you must reset the drum counter by selecting [Utilities] – [Reset Photoconductor Counter].
