The most distinct feature for the P1606dn is how fast it prints paper, and the machine can spit out 26 pages of paper in about 1 minute. This means that one page can be printed in seven seconds (or less), which this is faster than many other printer models out there. Also, the printer is easy to setup and the parts are just as easy to assemble, which also makes cleaning the machine a simple task. The P1606dn printer is connected to a wired network and does not have wireless, and it prints from Ethernet, PC/Mac, and USB.

Pros:

The HP P1606dn printer has a large capacity printer tray and fast printing speed, which these are two major things people look for when buying a printer. The paper tray is able to hold more paper than other printers, and it can hold a maximum of 250 sheets of paper and a 10 sheet input tray. With the amount of paper the tray can hold the average monthly amount of paper the printer can go through is up to 8,000 sheets of paper. The printer can also reduce wasted paper because it will print only the desired content, and documents can be double checked before printing so that there is no paper wasted. Also, the printer uses double-sided printing, which means that content can be printed on both sides of the sheet of paper. A unique feature about this printer is the speed that it prints at and 26 pages of paper can be printed in 1 to 3 minutes, so one page will be printed in about seven seconds.

Another thing the HP P1606dn printer offers is that it conserves energy because it uses automatic on/off technology, which saves time and energy for the printer. This means that the machine will automatically turn on when the documents are being sent to it through Ethernet, USB, or PC/Mac, and whenever the cycle is finished the machine will automatically turn off. This saves time when printing because the machine does not have to be turned on and booted up before printing, so the papers will be printed right away. Also, this saves energy because the machine is not being kept on all the time, which can cause it to jam or print slower than usual.

Cons:

One if the major with the HP P1606dn is that it does not connect to a wireless network, and having wireless would give the printer so many other printing options. For one, wireless networking will allow documents to be printed from anywhere there is a wireless connection, so if someone wants to leave their house they can still print from their office or even an Internet cafe. Also, wireless networking is connected to mobile devices so documents, pictures, etc. can be printed from touchscreen devices such as Iphone, Ipad, or Androids.

Even though the HP P1606dn printer has USB connection, the printer itself does not come with a USB power cord and will need to be purchased separately. This makes it difficult to setup the printer because the USB connection is important to printing, and having to purchase the power cord on top of the printer can be frustrating.

Also, the HP P1606dn printer program has a glitch in it when it works with Windows 7, and when printing duplex (double-sided) pages the bottom side of the page ends up turning out upside down. If the computer that the printer is connected to works with any other type of Windows program then it will work fine when printing duplex, but, for some reason, the duplex printing is not compatible with the Windows 7 software.
