This toner cartridge prints 16000 pages with average 5% coverage (Nearly all Printer manufacturers base their ink/toner cartridge yields on 5% page coverage).

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Muratec MFX-1600 Digital Laser Printer?

A new, standard-yield toner cartridge can print up to 8,000 pages at 6% coverage and two-page interval printing. You should replace the installed toner cartridge with a new one in the following circumstances:

Print-quality is poor (Printouts develop quality problems)

The following error message [No Toner Cartridge] is displayed on the LCD screen – The Muratec MFX-1600 Digital Laser Printer does not detect the toner cartridge. This problem could be caused by:

Incorrectly installed toner cartridge
Missing toner cartridge
Defective or damaged toner cartridge
Unsupported toner cartridge
You must make sure that the toner cartridge is firmly inserted into the laser printer, and then close the print compartment cover and the top cover securely. Please install a new toner cartridge if the error persists.

The following warning [TONER ALMOST EMPTY <> 50 PRINTS REMAIN] is displayed – More than 99% of the toner has been consumed. You should replace the installed toner cartridge, in order to be avoided print-quality problems and printing delays.

[TONER EMPTY <> PRINTER NOT USABLE] is displayed – The Muratec MFX-1600 Digital Laser Printer is in a non-operational mode caused by a completely exhausted toner cartridge. To restore the normal functionality of the laser printer, you must install a new toner cartridge. The complete replacement procedure is included below.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Muratec MFX-1600 Digital Laser Printer

You must open the top cover, and then open the print-compartment cover. Next, you must pull the used toner cartridge out of the print compartment, and unpack the new toner cartridge. After that, you must shake the new toner cartridge slowly in all directions to ensure equal toner distribution, and then align the two pins of the new component with the guides of the toner-cartridge slot. Please do not touch the roller of the new toner cartridge. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the new toner cartridge firmly into the slot, and then gently clean the LED printhead using the cleaning paper included with the new toner cartridge. Finally, you must close the print-compartment cover, and then close the top cover of your Muratec MFX-1600 Digital Laser Printer.

The Muratec MFX-1600 combines digital copying, scanning, high-speed fax, and printing. It can produce 16 copies per minute. With it you get PC& network printing options. Businesses that need to do a lot of faxing will love its high-speed fax capabilities.

Pros:

This unit has any easy to use design. It produces 16 pages per minute and is faster than comparably priced units.
Toner cartridges offer high yields and are easy to change. You don’t have to worry about getting toner on your clothes with the Muratec MFX-1600.
The Muratec MFX-1600 comes standard with 500 sheet paper capacity that can be upgraded to 1000 sheets. There is also a 50 sheet bypass tray for printing envelopes and labels.
Users love its high-speed faxing capabilities. There is also a second line option for high-volume fax applications. It comes with standard fax features including broadcasting and fax poling with 8MB standard memory.

Cons:

The Muratec MFX-1600 lacks color printing capabilities. Another drawback is that toner cartridges are expensive and don’t offer high yields.
