This Drum is good for printing 20000 pages, on average. Average page coverage is 5% of toner per page (compared to white space on the paper), which is the standard Sharp specification for this drum, and a standard measuring term for the consumer printing industry.

When do I Replace a Drum Cartridge in the Sharp FO-DC500 Laser Fax Machine?

Several indications will appear when the drum cartridge installed in your Sharp FO-DC500 Laser Fax Machine reaches the end of its estimated life. All of these indications are listed and explained below. Please follow the instructions given after each of the listed indications.

� The [ALARM] indicator on the control panel blinks and [DRUM LIFE REACHED] is displayed – The remaining print resource of the installed drum cartridge will be completely consumed after less than 1,000 new pages. You must make sure that you have a replacement drum cartridge for your Sharp FO-DC500 Laser Fax Machine in stock. Please install the new drum cartridge soon to avoid print quality problems and to ensure continuous operation of your laser fax machine.

� Print quality remains unsatisfactory even after a replacement of the toner cartridge

� [CHECK COVER OR DRUM] is displayed – You must make sure that the drum unit is correctly installed, and then close the print compartment cover firmly. Please install a new drum cartridge if the error message is still displayed afterwards.

How to Install a Drum Cartridge in the Sharp FO-DC500 Laser Fax Machine

You must open the top cover of your Sharp FO-DC500 Laser Fax Machine, and then take the toner cartridge out of the machine. After that, you must pull the exhausted drum cartridge out of the laser fax machine, and unpack the new component. Now, you must insert the new drum cartridge into the corresponding slot as far as it will go, and then reinstall the toner cartridge. Finally, you must close the top cover, and then reset the drum counter by pressing [V] – [^] – [START] – [START].
