C5150N BLACK DRUM

You should replace a drum unit/units installed in your OKIDATA C5150N, if any of the listed and described below messages is displayed on the control LCD.

''ORDER DRUM '' or ''DRUM LIFE '' - Both of these messages are indicating that the indicated installed drum unit is near the end of its useful life. You should replace the indicated drum unit soon after the initial appearance of the warning message. Otherwise, the print quality will be drastically decreased.

''REPLACE IMAGE DRUM 350: YELLOW'', ''REPLACE IMAGE DRUM 351: MAGENTA'', ''REPLACE IMAGE DRUM 352: CYAN'', and/or ''REPLACE IMAGE DRUM 353: BLACK'' – All of these messages are indicating a completely exhausted drum unit. You must install a new drum unit of the specified color as soon as possible.

You must start the drum unit replacement procedure by opening the top cover of your OKIDATA C5150N, but please avoid touching the internal printer parts labeled with ''HOT! Do Not touch''. Then, you must locate the exhausted drum unit. Please note that the installed toner cartridge and drum unit assemblies are arranged in the following order, from the rear side of the printer: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. After that, you must take the exhausted drum unit along with the attached toner cartridge out of the printer by carefully pulling the assembly upwards, and then unlock the toner cartridge from the exhausted drum unit by pulling its blue lock release lever towards you. Now, you must slide the cartridge gently to the right, and then remove it from the exhausted drum unit. Please be aware that any exposures of the new drum unit longer than 5 minutes to direct sunlight or strong artificial lighting will permanently damage the photoconductive portion of the new component, which could lead to a variety of print quality issues or even to an inoperable drum unit. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must take the new drum unit out of the protective transport packaging, and then remove its protective tape, the paper sheet, and the clear plastic film (and the silica gel pack, if available). Once the new drum unit is prepared, you must insert it into the printer, and then remove its orange seal. After that, you must insert the left end of the toner cartridge into the new drum unit, and then lower and insert its right end. Now, you must push the blue lock release lever of the toner cartridge towards the rear side of the printer to lock it into place, and then wipe the LED head with a LED lens cleaner. Finally, you must close the top cover of your OKIDATA C5150N.
