HP COLOR LASERJET 3500N IMAGE TRANSFER KIT

The image transfer kit includes a transfer unit and a cleaning cloth. The main component of the transfer unit is the black plastic belt that transports the paper inside the printer and transfers the toner onto the media. Therefore, the overall print quality results achieved by your HP Color LaserJet 3500n Printer are directly related to the technical condition of the installed transfer unit. You can check the remaining life/resource of the installed transfer unit by printing a supplies status page. You should replace the installed transfer unit if its remaining life is less than 10%, or/and if:

· ‘’59.X PRINTER ERROR’’ or ‘’INSTALL TRANSFER UNIT’’ is displayed on the control panel – You must make sure that the transfer unit is correctly installed. A new transfer unit must be installed, if the issue persists.

· ‘’ORDER TRANSFER KIT’’ is displayed – The highly sophisticated built-in monitoring system of your HP Color LaserJet 3500n Printer has detected that the installed transfer unit is near the end of its useful life. You should install a new transfer belt soon after the initial appearance of this warning message on the control panel display, in order to be avoided paper transfer or/and print quality problems.

· ‘’REPLACE TRANSFER KIT’’ – The installed transfer unit has been exhausted. A new transfer unit must be installed immediately. Otherwise, you will inevitably experience a variety of print quality issues and paper transfer problems (paper jams). The complete replacement procedure is included below.

Important: Please move all metal objects away from the laser printer before proceeding with the replacement of the image transfer unit.

Initially, you must open the front door of your HP Color LaserJet 3500n Printer, and then raise the blue handles of the used image transfer unit. After that, you must slightly lift the right side of the transfer unit by gently pulling the right blue handle upwards while pressing the blue lock release button, and then pull the left blue handle to remove the exhausted component from the laser printer. Please avoid touching the top or the contacts of the new image transfer unit. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must unpack the new image transfer unit, and then remove the protective tape and the orange shipping locks. Now, you must insert the two pegs on the left side of the new transfer unit into the holes on the left side of the slot, and then lower the right side of the new component. Please note that the blue button on the right side of the new transfer belt will be automatically released, if you have installed the new component correctly. Finally, you must close the front door, wait for the following message ‘’NEW TRANSFER KIT’’ to be displayed on the control panel, and then select [YES]. In case that nothing is displayed on the control panel, you will have to reset the transfer unit counter manually by executing the short procedure included below.

1. Press the [Menu] button, and then navigate to [Configure Device] – [RESETS].

2. Navigate to [RESET SUPPLIES] – [NEW TRANSFER KIT], and then select [YES].
