When do I Replace a Fuser Oil Maintenance Kit in the Ricoh Aficio 2232C Laser Printer?
There are several messages, which are indicating an exhausted Fuser Oil Maintenance Kit in your Ricoh Aficio 2232C Laser Printer. All of these messages are listed and described below.
• ‘’Not Detected: Fuser Oil Unit’’ – This message normally indicates an incorrectly installed Fuser Oil Unit. Therefore, you should reinstall the fuser oil unit, and replace this component, if the message is still displayed afterwards.
• ‘’Near Replacing: Fuser Oil Unit’’ – This is an advance notification, which is indicating that the installed fuser oil unit is near the end of its useful life. The purpose of this notification is to give you enough time for a purchase of a new Fuser Oil Maintenance Kit.
• ‘’Replace Fuser Oil Unit’’ – The installed fuser oil unit has been exhausted. You must install a new Fuser Oil Maintenance Kit immediately after the appearance of this warning message on the control LCD of your Ricoh Aficio 2232C Laser Printer.
How to Install a Fuser Oil Maintenance Kit in the Ricoh Aficio 2232C Laser Printer
!!!Important!!! You must turn off your Ricoh Aficio 2232C Laser Printer, then unplug its power cord, and wait at least one hour, before proceeding with the current replacement procedure.
Initially, you must detach the finisher (if available) from your Ricoh Aficio 2232C Laser Printer, and then open the duplex reversal unit. After that, you must carefully pull out the left cover, and then open it. Now, you must unlock the exhausted fuser oil unit by removing the securing grip while gently pulling the lock release lever down, and then remove the exhausted component by grabbing its handle and pulling slowly out (in horizontal direction). In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must unpack the new fuser oil unit, and then remove the protective seals by grabbing the green upper part of each seal and pulling it off. Please avoid shaking the new fuser oil unit. Once the new fuser oil unit is prepared, you must align it with the guides of the slot, and then completely insert the new component into the slot. After that, you must fold down the handle of the new fuser oil unit until it clicks into place, and then close the left cover. In the next step, you must push the marked area (marked with ‘’PUSH’’) of the left cover towards the main unit until the cover clicks into place, and then close the duplex reversal unit. Finally, you must reattach the finisher (if available), and then test you Ricoh Aficio 2232C Laser Printer.
